I've been living in San Diego since 2003. More about me at Wiki:JamesDennett -- Wiki:OnceAndOnlyOnce, so I won't replicate that all here.
We're currently not doing XP at work, though numerous agile practices influence much of how we do things. I've been much closer to XP in other places and other times, and still find that test-first development works very well for my own private projects, and more so the more I can stop myself thinking "I don't need to test first for this bit, I know what I'm doing".
Experience: around a decade as a hobby before leaving University for the real world, and another decade, professionally, since then. Interests to varying degrees include programming languages/language design, OSs?, software development processes, correctness proofs.
